Sunday Post

That is perhaps the most clever title I have ever come up with! And now for the most clever intro I have ever come up with. (Please note the massive amounts of sarcasm). Haha, but anyway, that aside, let's go onto the... BIG THREE!!

1) Review Session: Today I went to a review session which was not really helpful at all. The person running it was an undergrad who had some idea what he was talking about, but not enough to have a real grasp on the material or help us prepare for the exam. A group of friends and I ended up just going back to Hendrick House and studying on our own, and now, after I'm done writing this blog post, I'll go back to studying!

2) Dinner: Tonight, a group of friends and I went out to Cravings for dinner. Cravings, I probably mentioned the place before, is a Chinese restaurant that serves cheap, but good food! Although I had to leave dinner early to go to the third point on the Big Three.

3) Group Project: At 7 tonight I met up with some people in my leadership class to work on our Multicultural project. We have to talk about ageism and how it applies to the workplace and leadership. We got a lot done and I think we'll be pretty well off for our presentation on Thursday.

Alright, now back to work drone! (That is referring to me!). I mean- back to studying. Bye now!!

Saturday's Post

Sorry about the lateness. I'll do another post later tonight. Maybe instead of S and T days, I should do SMWF (Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, Friday) updates. And then I'll be late on those too and it'll become MTTS days. Math question: How many more iterations of delaying posts each day will it take to bring it back onto proper schedule? (I'll post an answer later today for the Sunday post).

Well, anyway, onto the Big Three!!

1) On Friday night, I went to a friend's engineering halloween party, which was pretty fun. I talked to a lot of people and got into a long discussion about water and the world, it was pretty interesting!

2) And all of Saturday was a study day, so I spent half of it studying by myself in the lounge and the other half studying with other friends in the class. I got a lot of programming done and feel more confident for the test. Today will be a study day, too, and later on there will be office hours to answer any additional questions.

3) Eli, the former head of Treehouse Society, graduated last year and now goes to grad school in NYC. So over the weekend, she came to visit. So a bunch of Treehouse Society people and I went out to dinner and then hung out afterwards. It was nice to catch up with everyone again and afterwards we baked cookies (but forgot a key ingredient), so it turned out more like brownies. Still tasted good though!

Anyway, I'll post another later this evening. Bye now!!

Post Number 50!

Wahoo! Post number 50!! The big five-oh, let's go!

1) Yesterday we celebrated one of my friend's birthday. We got him a cake and sang in the cafeteria so that was pretty fun!

2) Today in leadership class we talked about Transformational leadership, the ability to bring people to their full potential and inspire them. We also watched a video on Michelle Obama and another on Steve Jobs, both charismatic and inspiring leaders. Someday I hope to be as articulate and as great of a leader as they are.

3) Tonight I finished up some essays for this LeaderShape workshop, a week long event where we work and learn more about leadership. I'll turn in my application tomorrow and hopefully get accepted.

Well, I'm gonna go to bed. Good night, dear readers. Happy 50 Posts, and here's to 50 more!

Late is great! No it's not. It's late.

Yeah, as per the title, this blog post is late. Apologies around, let's get down to brass taxes. And that means- da da da DAAA!! Big Three! Let's go!!

1) On Monday I went to two meetings. The first one was with a Genetic Professor talking about this project: Scientific Animations Without Borders. In it, I'll be working on animations teaching how to do agriculture, prevent diseases, and other things to developing countries. The meeting was a mix between info-meeting and interview, but I think I'll be able to work on the project since they're always looking for talented people.

2) And the second meeting had to do with my Leadership Certificate, so this talked about the next step: creating a Personal Development Plan. That just outlines how I want to improve myself and my goals for school and beyond. Over the weekend I'll work on it, and over the next few weeks, I'll be refining it with my leadership coach.

3) For a lot of yesterday and after my classes today, I was in the art computer lab working on some videos for my interaction and time based art classes. It's been fun, but still a lot of work to get it all done.

Alright, I'm gonna get back to work on other homework. Check again with you readers tomorrow, bye!!

Post on the 7th or 1st day of the week, depending on the country calendar.

It'sa Sunday. It'sa blog post! Let'sa go!

1) Today I went over to the Quigley's for service. It was actually pretty good. If you didn't see it, In Jin Nim wasn't speaking, instead Reverend Shanker gave the sermon. He talked about unity and love, and coupled it with several anecdotes from his life, so it was interesting. Afterwards, Mrs. Quigley, their son Joshua, and I went over to this elderly lady's house and helped rake her yard.

2) After that, I worked on homework and studied ECE 190 for about two hours. Not so much fun there, haha.

3) And then tonight, Steve and I went out to go swimming. And after we were both dead tired, we went out to Cravings- Chinese food- for dinner. Food tastes so much better after a difficult work out. And since I haven't swam in a long time, I was using muscles I rarely use. Now I'm going to finish up some stuff and go to bed early (i.e. before midnight).

Bye now, dear readers!!

Pah-pah-pah POST!

Hey there! There are two ways to go into the water: you can step in, inch by inch as you adjust to the water, OR you can just jump right in. With this blog post, we're going to go with the latter! (Though, by using this lengthy introduction, ironically it's actually the former.) Anyway, BIG THREE!

1) Last night, I hung out with friends and we watched this independent film called Garden State. It was a romantic-comedy type film, and they had a really great soundtrack to it. I really enjoyed it! (It also had a little cameo with the actor who plays Sheldon from Big Bang theory!)

2) This afternoon, I had to film some stuff for both of my art classes. One was recording the different gestures for my user interface. I'm not actually designing an MP3 player, just gestures to control it. The second film was a dream sequence for my Time Arts class. I got some friends to help out and we got almost everything done, so I should be ready to move onto editing and post-production. Woo!

3) Tonight, a bunch of friends and I drove off campus to go through this corn maze. Instead of just trying to go from point A to point B, you had to find 8 different checkpoints hidden throughout the maze. It was actually a lot of fun, but as the night went on, it got a lot chillier. Still though, it was a great halloween-esque event!

Alright, I'm going to sleep. Bye now!!

Terribly sorry for missing Tuesday, Double Post today!

I don't know if you care about rationalizing or not, but I've been extremely busy with homework and writing essays for an application so I missed Tuesday. But that makes today special. You know why? For the first, and only time, I introduce to you- dear readers- (Drum roll please...) THE BIG SIX!! (Gasps!) Here are six different events/things and, similar to Panera Bread fashion, you pick two! to comment on. Here we go!

1) Yesterday (Wednesday), I had my job again. My group actually started making substantial progress in their work. They're the group making a backpack that could also function as a desk. For the past two days, they were just sitting around not really doing too much because they were waiting on supplies to come in, but now that they arrived, they're actually buckling down and working. And while they working is good for the project, it makes my job a lot easier (since I don't have to direct as much).

2) After my job I had math class. It's starting to get a lot more challenging and more difficult to keep up, but I'm still trying to stay on top of it. I was able to answer a couple questions in class though, so yay to that!

3) On Wednesday night, Treehouse Society had it's cartoon and fingerpainting event! It was a lot of fun just to put my stresses aside and just paint. I created this story of two people who hated eachother, but were turned into a giraffe and a turtle by a wizard. Then they have to traverse the lands (i.e. the canvas) to turn back to normal. People seemed to like my story and suggest I make a children's book out of it. Anyway, that event was fun!

4) Now the reason why my Tueday update was late, my essays. I'm applying to be a resident adviser for Hendrick next year. I don't know if I can get it, since there's only two open spots, but it would be awesome if I got it! Fingers crossed.

5) Today in ECE 190, we finally started going over the stuff I didn't fully understand last year. Namely pointers. Now I get it a lot better. Pointers point to a location in memory, as opposed to containing some value.

6) And then this afternoon we had interaction class and I presented my gestures for my MP3 playing device. People seemed to overall like it, but still offered some critique to improve it. Now I have to record some videos of people using the gestures and present that for next class.

Alright, the one and only TOP SIX. Sorry about the lateness, but enjoy! Bye now!!

Stay alive, it's forty-five!! (Post, that is)

Yup, we've been at this for forty-five posts! Let's see how many more we can do, shall we? So without further abu, the BIG THREE!

1) I'm sure you've heard the Bruno Mars "Lazy Song" right? "Today I don't feel like doing anything, I just want to stay in my bed!" Well, that's kinda how I felt this morning and early afternoon. I was like a platypus, I didn't do much. But then I decided to go out and do stuff!!

2) On quad day (first weekend I got back), I got this plant. Now I've been watering and growing this plant, but now it's reached a point where it's too small for its current container (a little styrofoam cup.) So I got a two liter soda bottle and cut it to form a bigger container. Recycling FTW!

3) Tonight I went over to the Quigley's for a church service. It was pretty good and afterwards we had dinner and talked. Well, I'm gonna head to bed. Good night, dear readers!!

Some snazzy, catchy title

Hello there! Firstly, apologies for this being a couple hours late. But as a wise monkey once said, it doesn't matter! It's in the past! So moving onward, let's do the... BIG THREE!

1. Today a group of friends and I went to curtis orchards. Over there they have apples, pumpkins, basically everything when you think of "autumn." It was really fun, I didn't buy a bag of apples (mostly because it cost $9 for a little bag), but I "sampled" different varieties and they are really good. Then we went pumpkin picking. Now, I decided to either go the super huge, or super small route. No where in between. And since the super huge ones are more expensive, I got the tiniest pumpkin they got, and plan to carve it. Wish me luck! After the orchard, we went back to this grove area and had a fire with hotdogs. It was a good day. =)

2. But the day was not over yet! That night, two friends of mine who are in a band were playing a concert. So a group and I got together to help support them. My friends were actually pretty good- guitarist and bassist. But after they went on there was- can you guess it?- If you said death metal band, you'd be right. I don't really understand the appeal of loud unintelligible lyrics being screamed over drums and guitar. At least it wasn't as bad as the time we listened to death metal in the library, haha. (And by "we" I mean one of my readers and I.)

3. After the concert, we (And by "we" I mean the group of friends I was with) went back to a friend's apartment and we just hung out and watched anime. That's actually the reason for this post being so late. No access to a computer! Haha, well anyway, I'll catch up with you later today. Take care!!

Thursday, On time!

Whoa, stop the presses, stop the world! A post, at a reasonable honor, actually on time? Could it be true?! You better believe it! Cuz it's here. And the Big Three are coming at you right about... NOW!

1) Yesterday I updated my ipod to iOS5. On the plus side, I got a ton of new features, but on the negative side, I lost all my music... Which kinda sucks, a lot. But at least now it runs faster and when I redownload stuff, I'll only get the songs I want. One of the features I really like are the notifications and to-do list. That's actually helped me be more productive!

2) Today I got one of my tests back, the one for leadership. I got 149/150! I really hope my math test is that good. I'll find out tomorrow!

3) Today's my long day for classes. I had Leadership (which I got my test back, which I talked about), then ECE 190. In that, we talked about C functions. I understand it for the most part. Once we get into pointers, then I'll have to start paying a lot more attention! This afternoon I had Interaction, where we're working on a gesture based user interface for an MP3 player. It's pretty fun to see what others come up with. After that is Time Arts, we all made different soundscapes so today we did a critique on it.

Alright, now this is a shout-out to one of my most dedicated readers out there. Could you look through the pictures on the family external harddrive and email any pics that have myself teaching animation to me? Much thanks!! Until next time, bye now!

Getting back into the swing of things!

Hello, sorry for the late update! Last night I was really busy and then today I haven't yet had a chance to update, but now I do, so I will!

1) Last night, my roommate, a friend on our floor, and I went over to Taco Bell at midnight (since both of them haven't ever had it before!) And then Luai (my roommate) and I were talking until about 3 am or so. We talked just about life, our ambitions, values, that deep kinda stuff. It's good to get to know him more and become closer as opposed to just two people living in the same room.

2) Then after staying up so late, I forgot to set my alarm clock. And this morning I had an important adviser meeting that I couldn't miss. I woke up exactly 20 minutes before the meeting and was able to make it on time! I don't know if it's just my biological clock, or someone up there loves me, but it was really amazing!

3) This afternoon I had my ELA job and then discrete mathematics class. My group is still waiting for materials to come in, so today they were pretty unproductive. We went to the computer lab and they did some research online, but there wasn't overly too much for them to do. Hopefully next week they'll be ready to get down and do more work!

Anyway, sorry for the lateness and I'll be on time tomorrow. Bye now!!

Last post before coming home!

Alright, Thursday! That means blog update time, and blog update time means Big Three!! Let'sa go!

1) So I took my leadership test this morning. It was really, really easy. There might've been one or two questions I was a little weary on, but for the most part, I got them all. And I'm sure I got the big-point written sections correct, so happy for that!

2) Yesterday you undoubtedly heard that Steve Jobs passed away. He was a genius and visionary and will definitely be missed. I'm really curious on where Apple is gonna go from here. Steve was such an integral part of the company, yet they already have a structure set up to continue going on. I saw this movie- Pirates of Silicon Valley- last night in commemoration of Jobs. It was made in 1999, so the movie was before the booming success of Apple, but still was an interesting story on Apple and Microsoft's beginnings. Maybe we can watch it when I come home.

3) Then today is my long day for classes. They were pretty interesting. In Interaction we talked about gestures and semiotics (study of signs). Then in time arts we talked about sound and music. Interesting to think about all the background noise we ignore throughout most of the day.

Anyway, see you late tomorrow (or one of my readers, that is). Bye now!!

Some creative, witty title that has to do with Tuesday

I say, "Hey! I'll be gone today. But I'll be back coming around the way. Seems like everywhere I go, the more I see, the less I know. But I know. One thing. That I love you!"

Yes, that song has been stuck in my head all day. Pretty good song, so I'm not really complaining. Anyways, without further side- er... top- chatter. Let's go with the Big Three!!

1) On Monday, I had a test in Basic Discrete Mathematics. And it turned out to not be as bad as I thought it would be. A lot of the difficult concepts that I was kinda shakey on- Bernoulli Trials, Bayes's Theorem, geometric progression, etc.- weren't even on the test. So yay! to that. There were still a few kinda tricky problems, but I think for the most part, I did pretty well!!

2) Last night, Steve and I went for a run together. It was the first one in a while. It's still somewhat weird not being his roommate, but I'm making an effort to still stay connected. We did four miles, so that wasn't so bad. And we were able to talk and catch up. I want to try to find the perfect balance between meeting new people and keeping up with current friendships.

3) This Thursday, I have a Leadership test. I'm not so worried about it because a lot of the questions are fairly intuitive, but I've still been studying a bit for it. Hopefully it'll be like my math test and not as bad as expected!! =)

Anyway, I'm going to bed. Kinda surprised I actually made it in! With six minutes to spare!! Good night!

Suhn-dae

I apologize in advance if this post is kind of short. I've been studying all day and want to get to bed early (since I have a discrete mathematics test tomorrow), but I know I can't go to bed before writing the BIG THREE! So, here we go!

1) This morning I studied and had tea. My friend back home had given me a bunch of tea, but I haven't really been drinking it, so I thought to start now. =) It was really good, a kind of orange spice tea. I really enjoy chai tea though, that's my favorite.

2) Then this afternoon, 10 points to whoever can guess what I did! If you guessed homework and studying, you'd be right! I finished all my math homework, and then worked on my ECE lab. I still have to the the machine problem, but that's not due until Wednesday, so priorities, right? Sundays tend to be fairly productive days.

3) And then tonight for dinner, a bunch of friends and I drove out to McDonalds to eat. We wanted something fast and cheap, so what better place than the golden arches. Unfortunately, most of the conversation was about Supersize Me and the large calorie count of the food, so that wasn't too appetizing. We did get a couple of pieces for the monopoly game. I remember back when we used to be really into it.

Anyway though, time for bed. Talk to you, my dear reader(s) on Tuesday and I'll let you know how my test went. Bye now!!

Sah-tur-dae

Hello, it's Saturday which can only mean one thing! Update!! So here a-we a-go!

1. This afternoon was Arboretum Day with Treehouse Society. We all went to the Arboretum- some of my readers know the place- and played kickball, climbed trees, and went by the Japanese Zen Garden. My team won the kickball game, but it was really close! 12 to 11. And guess who made the winning point! =) Then when we climbed trees, guess who made it to the top! Well, I guess that wasn't a competition, but it was still an amazing view. And then we walked through the Japanese garden. It wasn't nearly at the level of the one we went to, but still was very pleasant. It was great seeing the Treehouse Society people again and just hanging out.

2. After the Arboretum Day, I spent the rest of the afternoon studying. I have two tests so I have to get ready for that. Tomorrow will be even more studying, so I have that to look forward to. Woo!!

3. Then tonight, some friends were going to an observatory a couple miles off campus with the astronomical society. They invited me to go with, so tonight we drove out to star gaze. I am so glad I went, the sky was absolutely amazing. It was unlike anything you see in the suburbs or even while camping. We had telescopes and were able to see jupiter! Along with three of its moons. It was a really amazing experience seeing the vastness of the universe and all it has to offer. Truly amazing.

Bye now, see you tomorrow!
